DNR officers think alcohol may have played in role in this person driving his vehicle into the Tippecanoe River

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)  Conservation officers with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) rescued a man from the Tippecanoe River in Fulton County on Wednesday after getting reports of a person standing on top of a vehicle in the water.

When the officers arrived at the location near the Menominee Public Access Site, they found Joshua Sexton of Rochester standing on top of the vehicle he had been driving.  They believe Sexton may have been drinking, however they aren’t sure what caused him to leave a county road he was on and drive into the icy cold waters.

Crews towed the vehicle from the water.
