INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WANE)  A Fort Wayne man strolled into the Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis last Friday after not sleeping at all the night before because he had won a $500,000 top prize in a scratch-off game.

Danovic bought his winning ticket at the Fairway Deli located at 348 North 13th Street in Decatur.  He decided to do so because he had bought a Wild $10 ticket earlier in the day and had won $40.

“I was speechless and amazed,” Danovic explained.

The Allen County man tried to call his parents but it was very late, and they didn’t answer the phone. He did manage to reach his sister who thought it was a joke until he sent her a picture of the ticket.

Family is a big priority for Danovic. “I am going to take care of my parents who have been through a lot. I am going to pay their house off and make sure they are debt free so they have no worries, then I’ll worry about myself.”
