Parker Solid In Second Spring Training Start

PHOENIX (WANE) – After giving up six earned runs in 1.1 innings to open the spring Norwell high school graduate Jarrod Parker had a solid second outing on Wednesday against the Brewers.

As the starting pitcher for the Oakland Athletics Parker threw 3.1 innings against the Brewers, giving up one earned run on a solo home run by former N.L. MVP Ryan Braun to lead off the fourth. Parker wound up with one strikeout and two walks.

He lowered his spring training ERA to 13.50.

Parker went 12-8 with a 3.97 ERA last season for Oakland. He is projected as the Athletics opening day starter.
