Semi carrying oranges catches fire on U.S. 24

PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) – The eastbound lanes of U.S. 24 have been reopened between State Route 49 and U.S. 127. The road reopened around 11:30 p.m.

The highway was initially closed around 4 p.m. for a tractor-trailer fire, according to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department.

Officials said the semi was hauling oranges when it caught fire. The truck and its cargo were badly damaged.

No injuries were reported.
