National Severe Weather Preparedness Week


It’s may be hard to think about severe thunderstorms during a bitterly cold week, but spring and the heart of severe weather season are just weeks away. The National Weather Service and Emergency Management leaders want everyone to be prepared.

March 2 to March 8 is National Severe Weather Preparedness Week. The week serves as a time for family’s to review severe weather safety plans.

Every year in the United States, severe thunderstorms are responsible for loss of property, injuries, and even death. Many of the injuries and deaths can be prevented by preparing you and your family with a severe weather safety plan.
