FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Indiana basketball fans added a new team to the list of potential viewing options on Sunday. The expansion Fort Wayne Flite held their media day on Sunday afternoon after weather forced the cancellation of their season opener.
The Flite are part of the seven-team Central Basketball Association and are coached by former Hoosier and Mad Ants guard Rod Wilmont. The roster has a decidedly local feel with 13 of the teams 14 players either hailing from Fort Wayne or played their college basketball here. Home games will be played at Taylor University on Rudisill Boulevard.
The team officially opens the season next Saturday when the Flite pay a visit to the St. Louis Hawks. For more information on the team you can visit their official website.
