FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – 3Rivers Federal Credit Union is partnering with the Indiana State Police, U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana (BBB) to host a free Shred Day on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A mobile shredder courtesy of Iron Mountain will be in the rear parking lot of the credit union’s northland campus, located at 1615 Northland Avenue, off of Lima Road, across from Crazy Pinz.
All documents will be shredded on site and recycled. Iron Mountain is not able to take plastic or metal items, but paper clips and binders are acceptable.
“The nature of this crime and the effect it can have on its victims makes it even more important to shred personal information, even those papers or labels that may seem harmless, ,” said Andrew Gottfried, U.S. Postal Inspector. “Identity thieves have no scruples in what they can and will do.”
There will be identity theft and fraud related materials available at 3Rivers Federal Credit Union on Wednesday, March from noon to 2 p.m.
