FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Headwaters Park Ice Skating Rink closed for the season Sunday.

Executive Director of Headwaters Park Geoff Paddock said around 20,000 skaters came out to the ice rink this season. Paddock believes the rink lost at least 5,000 skaters this season due to weather conditions.

“A little bit of snow and cold weather can bring folks out, but when we have temperatures like we did this winter, it was really too cold for people to skate,” Paddock said.

Headwaters Park Ice Skating Rink will reopen again in November.
