FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  A popular Canadian chain announced plans to come to Fort Wayne as part of a five-year plan for growth.

The company expects to have 300 more locations in the United States by the end of 2018, with many of those in the Midwest.

Tim Hortons already has almost 100 would-be franchises lined up, including 15 in Fort Wayne. These 15 locations would be a mix of standard and non-standard locations. Locations in places such as gas stations, convenience stores, universities, hospitals, and office buildings are considered non-standard.

Tim Hortons specializes in fresh coffee, baked goods (donuts, bagels) and homestyle lunches.
