Komets Fall At Home To Kalamazoo 4-1

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – In a battle for first place in the ECHL’s North Division the Komets fell at home to Kalamazoo 4-1 on Wednesday night.

Kalamazoo’s Chris Lawrence scored the lone goal in the first period to give the Wings a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Kalamazoo’s Justin Taylor would redirect a shot in front to beat Ben Meisner to give the Komets a 2-0 lead midway through the second frame. Simon Danis-Pepin would score his fourth goal of the season less than two minutes later to cut the Kalamazoo lead to 2-1. Nick Sirota would tally another Wings goal before the break, giving Kalamazoo a 3-1 lead heading in to the third period.

The K-Wings would tack on an empty net goal to set the final at 4-1.

The Komets are back at home again on Friday when they host Greenville at 8 p.m.
