Six people escape house fire

Central Fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Six people escaped a house fire Sunday night on the city’s southeast side.  Firefighters were called to the home on 2920 Central just before 5:30 p.m. When crews arrived on the scene, they found smoke coming from a second story bedroom of the home.

All six people inside the home were able to get out on their own before firefighters got there.  It took crews less than ten minutes to control the fire.  Water and smoke damage was minor, and most of the damage was in the bedroom where the fire started.

The Red Cross was called in to assist, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
