INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two adults and two children were killed and two more children were critically injured Saturday morning after an Indianapolis home caught on fire.

The fire broke out around 9 a.m.  in the 2100 block of North Olney Street, near 22nd Street and Massachusetts Avenue.

Fire officials said a neighbor or a passerby noticed the fire and called 911.

Officials said a man and a woman in their 30’s or 40’s and four children, ages 14, 11, eight and six, were taken to area hospitals. The man, woman and two of the children were pronounced dead at the hospital.

It took firefighters about 10 minutes to get the fire under control.

Officials were investigating the cause and origin of the fire as of Saturday morning.

After an initial investigation, fire officials said they could not find any working smoke detectors in the house.
