FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – After 27 years coaching Bishop Luers girls basketball Denny Renier is calling it a career.

Renier has stepped down as the head coach of the Knights.

A long-time assistant, Renier has spent the last five seasons as the girls head coach. He is 93-33 leading the program. He guided the Knights to four regional titles, three semi-state championships, and the 2011 class 2A state title.

Renier told our partners as The News-Sentinel, “I kind of lost the fire in my belly.”
