Kohne’s Shot Is No. 1 On ESPN’s SportsCenter

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Scott Kohne’s buzzer beating three pointer last night at the Hutzell Center took the sports world by storm on Tuesday evening, garnering the no. 1 play on ESPN SportsCenter’s “Top Plays” segment.

Kohne, a Fort Wayne native and Bishop Dwenger high school graduate, buried a turnaround three pointer to edged rival Huntington University 62-60 on USF’s senior night.

Kohne spoke with WANE-TV on Wednesday afternoon about the last 18 hours of excitement. He says his sister called him last night to let him know the play was no. 1 on ESPN. Kohne estimates he’s seen the play 100 times since then, and has received hundred if not thousands of tweets, re-tweets, and messages on twitter.

Kohne also explained the play step-by-step for WANE, noting that it didn’t go exactly as planned – but the result speaks for itself.
