WATERLOO, Ind. (WANE) – According to WANE’s news-gathering partner, The News-Sentinel, Pete Kempf has been hired as the head football coach at DeKalb high school.

Kempf graduated from DeKalb in 2002. He’s spent the last three seasons as an assistant at East Noble.

Kempf takes over a program that was under the leadership of interim head coach Mike DeVos for the 2013 season after Mike Cochran stepped down in early August right before the season began.

DeKalb has gone 2-38 over the last four seasons, with three 0-10 campaigns.
