Homestead, Dwenger Cruise In City Hockey Tourney

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The quest for the Memorial Cup began Wednesday night at Lutheran Health SportsCenter as Homestead and Bishop Dwenger each won in the first round of the city high school hockey tournament.

Homestead beat the FW Bruins 8-1 behind early goals from Jay Conkling and Montana Shoup.

Meanwhile, Dwenger topped Summit City 7-2 in the late game.

The semi-finals are set for Saturday. Leo will face Dwenger at 5:30 p.m. followed by Carroll against Homestead at 7:30 p.m.

The Memorial Cup title game is set for next Wednesday at 7 p.m.
