Police ID five victims in “gang shootout”

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  The victims injured in a shootout between rival gangs have been identified by The Fort Wayne Police Department.

The following five victims were taken to three different Fort Wayne hospitals early Sunday morning after a gun battle near the intersection of Lafayette Street and E. Tillman Road:

  •  Brandon Marcus Hardy, 31, of New Haven
  •  Dawann Laray Martin Sr., 30, of Fort Wayne
  • Kavonte Lamar Bingham, 22, of Fort Wayne
  • Charles Louis Phillips Jr., 19, of Fort Wayne
  •  Christopher Lynn Ladd, 19 of Fort Wayne

Police did not release the extent of the injuries for each victim. On Sunday, NewsChannel 15 was told one victim had been critically injured, two seriously injured, and two were in good condition.

When NewsChannel 15 received the names of the victims on Tuesday, none of them had been charged in connection to Sunday’s shooting.
