One dead after West Lafayette house fire

WEST LAFAYETTE (WLFI) – One woman is dead after an early hour house fire in West Lafayette.

Wabash Township fire department, West Lafayette fire and police departments, Tippecanoe County sheriff, and Tippecanoe Emergency Ambulance arrived at the scene on Prophets Road around 2 a.m., finding flames through the roof and reports of one person inside the home.

The woman was removed and emergency personnel worked to resuscitate her at the scene.  She was then transported to Franciscan St. Elizabeth East hospital where was later pronounced dead.

The woman’s name has not been released.
