Komets Clipped By Cyclones In Shootout

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – For the third straight week the Komets opened a three-game weekend set with a loss. The K’s were outdone by Cincinnati 3-2 in a shootout on Friday night at Memorial Coliseum.

The teams traded goals during regulation with Dean Ouellet and Brandon Marino each scoring for Fort Wayne. Marino’s 21st of the season came with eight minutes remaining in regulation and tied the score at 2.

In the shootout Dan Eves scored the eventual game-winner for the Cylones, before Scott Darling stopped Simon Danis-Pepin.

The Komets return to the ice Saturday night at Kalamazoo.
