BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) – Indiana University head basketball coach Tom Crean announced the player who was arrested for an OWI early Friday morning will be suspended indefinitely.

Friday night, Crean Tweeted that 21-year-old Hanner Mosquera-Perea will be suspended indefinitely, beginning with Saturday’s game at Purdue.

Crean also tweeted:

We are disappointed in him but also disappointed for him. He knows he made some terrible choices which have turned into big mistakes.

According to officials with the Indiana University Police Department, Mosquera-Perea was southbound on Dunn and had his left turn signal on. It appeared he was going to turn eastbound on a one-way westbound street, but did not. Mosquera-Perea then turned his signal off, and proceeded at a slow rate of speed down the road, weaving in and out of the lane and hitting a curb.

The officer then stopped Mosquera-Perea’s vehicle. He was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail. Police say his BAC was .15 , twice Indiana’s legal limit of point .08.
