Fire, smoke consume Goshen Ave. home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne firefighters battled a house fire on Goshen Avenue Wednesday night.

Around 11:30 p.m. crews were dispatched to 710 Goshen Avenue and found a home fully engulfed in flames. Fire officials said fire spread throughout the entire home, including the attic and exterior walls.

Heavy smoke poured from windows and doors and fire could be seen through several windows.

Crews had everything under control in 25 minutes and remained on scene for several hours extinguishing hot spots and working to remove debris for investigators.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Goshen Ave. was closed between State Blvd. and Sherman Blvd. while crews were on scene.
