VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) — Officials say a northern Indiana woman reported missing more than three weeks ago was found dead inside a snow-covered car in a store parking lot.

Valparaiso police say officers investigating a reported abandoned vehicle at a Target store found that it was registered to the missing 56-year-old woman from Mishawaka.

Police say only the rear quarter panel of the car was visible under the snow and that the woman’s body was found in the car’s back seat.

Porter County Coroner Chuck Harris tells The Times of Munster (http://bit.ly/NxKmu0 ) the woman likely died of a drug overdose because evidence of drug use was found in the car.

The woman was reported a missing on Jan. 18 and was believed suicidal.
