NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – The owners of a horse in Noblesville say she is doing OK after falling through an icy pond over the weekend.

At around 6:15 p.m. Sunday rescue crews with the Noblesville Fire Department responded to the 16000 block of Seminole Road to the report of an animal rescue.

Two homeowners called 911 after one of their horses, Nyah, had fallen through an ice-covered pond and could not get out. When rescue crews arrived, Nyah was submerged in pond water up to her neck.

Fire officials were able to rescue Nyah from the pond. She was taken to a barn on the property and seen by a veterinarian.

Nyah is doing well, and is expected to make a full recovery. Her owners say she has been up, walking around and eating.
