Frankfort officer arrested for theft

FRANKFORT, Ind. (WANE)  Indiana State Police arrested a Frankfort police officer Tuesday afternoon. Randy Emery, 48, faces one felony count of theft.

Emery is accused of stealing money from Good Oil Company in Winamac, Indiana. Investigators said Emery had a part time job transporting money from the oil company to the bank, and was driving a Frankfort police car while off duty.

It is alleged more than $147,000 cash has been taken in the thefts since late summer of last year. The investigation is continuing.
