FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The other man who played a role in the murder of a Fort Wayne man last year was sentenced to 23 years in prison on Monday.
Police said Augustus S. Marshall, 28, of Fort Wayne, shot and killed Antonio Galvan III, 28, of Fort Wayne, in the 3000-block of McDonald Drive on February 23, 2013.
Jose J. Lopez, 24, of Fort Wayne, was also charged with Galvan’s murder. He was also sentenced to 23 years in prison last Thursday.
According to police, officers attempted to perform a routine traffic stop on Lopez and Marshall following the shooting, but they would not pull over. The two then led police on a pursuit that ended on Brown Street when the suspects’ SUV crashed into another car.
Lopez and Marshall then fled on foot and broke into a neighboring home on the block.
