FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Red Rok is back open after being shut down by the  Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health on Thursday. The restaurant posted on its Facebook page that they were offering 99 cent beer all night.

This is an update to the previously published story below.
The Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health closed Red Rok, a BBQ restaurant and bar in downtown Fort Wayne, on Thursday because of a rodent problem.

After receiving a complaint, health department officials conducted an inspection and found there was a “significant rodent issue” Thursday, according to John Silcox, director of communications for the health department. The restaurant was closed down immediately.

The health department later confirmed that dead mice were found in traps, live mice were running over supplies, and there were mice droppings in pots and pans.

Silcox said the health department gave the restaurant a list of things that must be done to address the problem before the restaurant can reopen.

Red Rok is located at 123 W. Columbia Street, right next to Columbia Street West and Bourbon Street Hideaway.
