FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Chief Deputy David Gladieux has announced his candidacy for Allen County Sheriff.
“I am eager to share with the voters of Allen County my experience, my values and my vision for this department,” Gladieux said. “I’ve served this department and this community for nearly 30 years, and I believe I’m the only candidate with the experience, qualifications and commitment to be the next Sheriff.”
Gladieux is a 28-year veteran of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and has served as Chief Deputy Sheriff for the past six-plus years. He has worked as a road patrol, K-9 handler, major crimes detective, member of the Allen County S.W.A.T. team, emergency dispatcher, and civilian confinement officer.
“I’ve worked closely with the past four sheriffs, and I intend to build on the firm foundation they’ve established for Allen County,” Gladieux said. “I plan to continue to work with local, state and federal officials toward completion of the Training Facility, and I plan to further a positive relationship with those same officials to reduce the costs of inmate healthcare, improve public safety and control costs.
“My department will be one that is efficient, effective and committed to the service and safety of the citizens of Allen County,” he added.
