DEFIANCE, Ohio (WANE) An explosion at the SensoryEffects manufacturing facility in Defiance, Ohio sent at least two people to the hospital early Friday morning.
According to the Defiance Police Department, the explosion took place around 4:30 a.m. at 136 Fox Run Drive.
A fire suppression unit kept most of the fire contained. Fire crews extinguished remaining flames when they arrived.
The building has some structural damage from the blast, but officials said fire damage was minimal.
Two people were injured in the explosion. One was flown to a Toledo hospital with severe burns. A maintenance man with the company helped the fire crews on the scene and suffered smoke inhalation. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police closed areas near downtown to traffic for several hours Friday morning.
