Gunman leaves empty-handed from Marco’s Pizza

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Police say a man attempted to rob a Marco’s Pizza at gunpoint Thursday but ran off without any money.

According to a store employee, a man came in through the front door of the Marco’s Pizza at 1612 St. Joe Center Road Thursday morning.

The employee said the suspect was crouching down behind the counter at first, but then stood up and said “Give me all your [sic] money…open the register!” The employee told police the suspect was holding a silver gun.

Police said the employee then ran towards the back of the restaurant and out the back door. A second employee also ran out the back door. The suspect ran out the front door, according to police.

The Marco’s employee said the suspect was around 5’8″ and wearing all black with a red sock hat. He also had a black and white bandana with a design on it over his face.
