FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana recognized their volunteers Thursday morning in honor of National Mentoring Month.

Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry recognized all of the people who serve as “Bigs” for giving their time and being positive role models for their “Littles.”

“Many of the volunteers I talk to on a regular basis say they get more out of this than they actually give in a couple hours a month I think the littles kind of help keep them young, they help keep things exciting in their life and just provide them with somebody that they turn to as a friend sometimes too,” Eric Pulley, Director of Marketing and Recruiting, said.

Last year, BBBS served more than 2,000 kids.
