Nearly 80 Purdue University students plus counselors and faculty boarded three buses Tuesday headed to West Bend, Wisc. for the funeral of fellow student Andrew Boldt.
Police say 23-year-old Cody Cousins shot, stabbed and killed 21-year-old Boldt during class Jan. 21 inside the Electrical Engineering building on Purdue’s campus.
Students say he was a smart, lovable, very involved student and friend who they will miss dearly.
The buses will arrive in West Bend for the wake which begins at 4 p.m. ET. The group will stay for the funeral at 8 p.m. ET and head back to campus immediately after.
Students say this is a way to bring closure to Boldt’s shocking murder.
Cousins pleaded not guilty in his initial court hearing. He’s being held in the Tippecanoe County Jail without bond.
