IPFW Adaptodons Leading The Way In Indiana

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – IPFW is leading the way when it comes to wheelchair basketball in the state of Indiana thanks to the Adaptodons.

The Adaptodons are the only active college club wheelchair basketball team in Indiana. The team just completed its second season with a schedule that included a trip to Assembly Hall in Bloomington.

The Adaptodons are a club team consisting of eight player, but not all are full-time IPFW students. In fact, the team sports a pair of high school players from the area who are enrolled in one class at IPFW each, and a student at Ball State who takes an IPFW course on-line to gain eligibility to play.

The Adaptodons are a club sports and do receive money from the school.
