Diocese: More allegations brought against Father Seculoff

Father James Seculoff resigned earlier this month after an allegation of sexual abuse.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Three more people have come forward claiming sexual abuse by a priest who previously resigned for an allegation about sexual misconduct, according to the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend’s website.

The diocese said on its website three people came forward with sexual abuse allegations against Father James Seculoff. Seculoff resigned from the church earlier this month after an allegation was made against him from an incident more than forty years ago. The diocese said the announcement prompted additional credible allegations.

The church has not identified who was involved, when they occurred, or where the incidents took place.

The diocesan review board and Bishop Kevin Rhoades found each of the three allegations to be highly credible and supported by substantial evidence. The diocese said Bishop Rhoades directed the allegations to law enforcement and the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

No other details were provided.

The church said anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse by the clergy to contact the diocesan Victim Assistance Coordinator at (260) 399-1458 or the Vicar General at (260) 422-4611.
