WOODBURN, Ind. (WANE) – Indiana Michigan Power restored power to all of its customers in Woodburn, according to a media release.

I&M crews worked in the field to restore power to 143 customers Saturday night. Crews worked through the night to install a temporary transformer in a substation, restoring power to the remaining 223 customers by 8:45 a.m. Sunday.

Officials said the harsh winter weather may have contributed to equipment issues at a substation Saturday morning. That knocked out power to 1,600 customers. Power was restored to more than 1,200 customers by redirecting the power from different circuits. Crews had to temporarily replace substation equipment with mobile devices, a complex task, to get power back to everyone else.
