Woodlan, Garrett Capture ACAC Titles

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Behind 20 points from guard Greg White, Woodlan captured its first ACAC Boys Tournament Championship since 1997, defeating Garrett 62-54. The Warriors withstood a monster effort from the Railroaders Justin McCoy who was named tournament MVP after pumping in 26 points in the championship game. Woodlan and Garrett seesawed most of the game, until While connected on 7-of-8 free throw attempts in the games closing minute to ice the win.

Earlier in the day Garrett defeated Leo in the girls championship game 54-42. The two programs have now combined for the last 7 titles here, but this was the Railroaders first since 2011. Garrett’s Brandi Dawson was named tournament MVP after a line of 19 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists in the championship game.
