FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Police say Demetrius Lamar Masterson, 29 is dead after a shooting on the city’s east side Sunday night.
Just after 7:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a reported shooting at 7425 Placer Run.
According to city police spokesman Officer Michael Joyner, a woman went home Sunday night and found her boyfriend inside who ‘was down.’ She called police and when officers arrived, they found Masterson unresponsive.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead, according to Joyner.
No one else was found inside the home by officers. There wasn’t any forced entry.
Investigators have not released details on a possible motive or any possible suspect information.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Allen County Coroner’s Office.
Masterson is the 42nd homicide victim in Allen County this year.
Masterson has a criminal record dating back to 2002 and includes possession and dealing marijuana and cocaine and criminal recklessness.
