FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The coroner has identified the man who was shot and killed in southwest Fort Wayne on Sunday afternoon.

Police said they responded to gunshots in the 1200-block of West Wildwood Avenue at around 12:20 p.m. Sunday. Lance A. Murray, 30, was found in the 1300-block of Home Avenue, which is north of West Wildwood.

The Allen County Coroner said Murray died of gunshot wounds. His death was declared a homicide.

Murray’s death marks the 38th homicide in Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2013.

John Chambers, spokesperson for the Fort Wayne Police Department, said witnesses saw a white car speeding away from the scene following the sound of gunshots.

Chambers said there is no suspect information and no arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon.
