Eryn Rogers is an Emmy-Award winning multi-media journalist who joined NewsChannel 15 in August 2012.
Eryn joins the team fresh from her graduation from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Eryn finished the Accelerated Masters Program at Northwestern securing that and her Bachelor’s degree in simultaneous fashion.
She won a Midwest Emmy for a documentary she filmed and produced as a part of her graduate capstone on a man trying to save youth in Chicago from gang life.
Medill’s program required real on-air experience and she completed that during the spring of 2011 when she reported in a Journalism Residency at KSNT-TV in Topeka, KS. Eryn covered lead stories such as the aftermath of the same tornadoes which ravaged Joplin, MO. Eryn also covered Kansas politics, her pet interest. Along that line, Eryn left Kansas for New York City to intern at MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews”.
A native of Atlanta, Eryn also interned at local news powerhouse WSB-TV. However, she understands living in the Midwest from her time in Chicago. She is happy to be back and enjoys exploring the “Summit City.”
Eryn is also a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
